The Emperor by RuNyx (Dark Verse #3)

Give me your dreams and your nightmares, your pleasure and your pain, your fantasies and your fears. Give me everything”

Hello friends! Welcome to another book review, thank you for being here! 🫂✨ Today, I am bringing you the third book of the amazing Dark Verse series, each book gets better and better and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series, not only because of the romance but the grand plot as well! I cannot get over the fact that all three books balanced the grand plot and amazing romance storylines perfectly, I guess this shows how perfect our author is. Let me actually get into the review, or else I will not stop talking.

Where do I even start with this book? I knew I was going to love the story of Dante and Amara; from the first two books I have fallen in love with Dante’s character and how well he was written. Not only him but also Amara. Although these two were side characters for the first two books, their addition to the books was so huge, that I was charmed by their existence. I also knew that something dark had happened to both of them, but I did not know or could have even guessed how horrifying their past was. This time we had more chance to see what Maroni family truly is, and how deep this darkness existed. From the first two books, we know that the grand plot has some dark themes, such as child kidnapping and the flesh ring. In the first two books, this was something that they all tried to figure out because none of them were part of this establishment, but they all were victims in their own way.

This time the book showed a very horrifying reality for our two main characters. Although she was just a child, Amara was broken into pieces just because she was targeted by someone who was also a victim. I am not justifying what they had done to her just because they were hurt themselves too. I believe that true kindness and a good heart come from overcoming the pain that one has endured throughout life. Unfortunately, she was the main target just because she was close to Dante and this horrifying establishment called Syndicate took everything from her in addition.

People are like chess pieces. Anyone on the board is of consequence.”

We knew from the first two books that both Dante and Amara had something going on, but I assumed that it was something like being ex-lovers but not being able to move on from each other, in the book their relationship is explained thoroughly. They are like two opposites, Amara keeps her head high no matter what, and Dante is ready to do anything and everything for the sake of her. Their love has no time. Their love doesn’t have an expiration date, their love is real, and it existed through the years within both of them although they were each other’s dark secret. Although we don’t usually see this kind of long-term relationship in dark romance books or mafia romances in general, I really liked the idea of being able to read the past and present all together throughout the book. I loved seeing them grow up together and I felt like this book could be well over 800 pages and I would still read it as eagerly as I did. I do not mean that it was short and it should’ve been longer but I’m saying that it was so well balanced between the past and the present I just didn’t get bored and kept reading until I saw the last page.

Besides their relationship, just like the first two books of the series I truly enjoyed how the grand scheme worked. Now we have more idea about what this establishment is and what the part of their families have in it. I want them to figure it all out and put an end to this horrifying reality for so many innocent children, I simply cannot wait to read how everything is going to move from there. The darkness was very well written in the book. The opportunities that made us see both of our characters in a more personal light allowed me to get to know them better and the only thing I know right now is that they both deserve happiness and nothing else. Really. They just deserve happiness, and I don’t want them to go through anything ever again.

From the steamy scenes to the characters, this was a successful search book of the Dark Verse series. I cannot wait for what our author will offer us in the fourth book but I kind of wish that Dante and Amara had a second book just like Tristan and Morana. Nevertheless, soon I will start the 4th book! I highly suggest this series whether you like dark romance or not if you are into some action drama and lots of love, I highly suggest this series. Of course, it is not always easy to read due to the heavy topics that are often mentioned in the plot so be cautious, but it has my 100% recommendation.

Until I see you in my next blog post, take care! 💕
