may wrap up 2024 📖

Hello friends! Welcome to the last blog post of May 2024! I still cannot believe how fast this month has passed, it feels like the beginning of May and here we are, reaching the halfway point of the year. In previous months I did not share my wrap-ups because I didn’t really read much, however, something happened and this month I ended up reading a lot, although I was busy, I spent every off-work time I had with books and not scrolling reels on Instagram. I am quite proud of the books I have read this month, I enjoyed every single one of them to some extent. Let me talk you through what were my books from May! 🫂🌸

The Flowers of Buffoonery by Osamu Dazai
It had been a good while since my last Japanese literature book and although this specific short baby did not give me the usual enjoyment of Dazai, it was a quick read. I do love Dazai’s works, and although I expected more from this one too, I will read more of his works and try to bury my disappointment in this one haha. 3 ⭐s!

Misconduct by Penelope Douglas
A usual, classic adult romance with not much drama which I really enjoy every once in a while. It surely was a good read for me and my heart beat for Tyler Marek for 3 solid days afterwards lol. 4 ⭐s!

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
I have been on a roll with Hoover books for the past couple of months, I am staying away from all the drama and just enjoying the books. Truly, this was amazing! I loved how character developments were portrayed in general, and also, the affection of the main characters. 5⭐s!

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
I feel like this month’s best book in terms of how I kept thinking about it the rest of the month and most likely the rest of my life (will) is this one here. I am so sad that I kept not reading it even though I had it in my library for so long but better than never eh? 5 glowing ⭐s!

God of Wrath by Rina Kent
Every time I read from this series (this is the third book) I question my sanity and think that something should be wrong with me. I accept that this dark romance (darker than Haunting Adeline tbh) is not everyone’s cup of tea but respectfully, if you require a romance this dark and twisted, if you want to question your sanity, do read this series. Do not wait. Just read it. 5 ⭐s!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Unfortunately, I had one DNF this month, and it was The Night Circus. Something about the language and the style of writing bothered me and I tried to read a few pages for an entire 2 weeks, but I simply couldn’t. Maybe it wasn’t the right time, I will try it in the future but for now, it caused me to lose two weeks completely and not read anything.
