february wrap up 2023

Hello friends, I am back with all the books I read during February. February was a horrific month for my country due to the earthquakes destroying over 10 cities and though I kept posting reviews, I want to clarify that every review posted this month was written before the disaster and they all were scheduled so they were published while I was away from social media. It was hard to do anything for the first two weeks but watching the news ruined everyone so I kept reading until I couldn’t think. So here I am with lots of books and some good manga for this month! I am glad that I am very consistent with reading this year and I feel like I am going back to my usual self by reading more and more. It feels refreshing and empowering. I swear. Anyways, here are my February books and I hope you enjoy them! 💖

#1 There Are No Saints by Sophie Lark
This book was outstanding in every possible way and I am so glad that I read it because OH MY GOD wasn’t this so good? Thrilling? Hot? I love Cole, I love Mara, and I even love Shaw because he is a complete villain with no justifiable actions. I will finish the duet as soon as possible! 4.5⭐s because here we are with a new obsession!

#2 Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
I read the first book in the series last month I mentioned that I was quite surprised by how good the book was. I am glad that I continued the series this month as well, without losing many details about it. Mafi’s language got better in this book, she shook that amateur feeling off and I have no doubts that she will get better and better as the series continues. I am glad that I did read it! 5⭐s for this beauty!

#3 Letter from an Unknown Woman by Stefan Zweig
This was my second book from Zweig and I loved it. It amazed me how detailed the writing was, how desperate she was and how easy for an obsession to destroy a person’s life. I am trying to get into this modern classic reading train and though Zweig is already overrated as it is, I will read every book from him whenever I can get my hands on it. Amazing 4⭐s!

#4,5,6,7 Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto
I’ve wanted to read Chainsaw Man for a while now. I saw a lot of good reviews for the anime and after having an almost two-hour chat with one of my best friends, I decided to at least read the first four volumes of the story and I am so glad that I did it! It was funny, refreshing, and scary. Everything you would ask from a manga. I cannot wait to read more. For now, it didn’t surpass my hype of JJK so 4⭐s for the first three volumes of it! (Not to mention but the series is very similar to JJK! Just so you know!)

#8 Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree
A book out of my comfort zone? Hell yeah! I saw a GoodReads review about this book saying that “if DnD and Animal Crossing had a child… it would be this.” and I completely agree! I usually do not read high fantasy, well, I do read high fantasy but not in this setting at least. However, this story was heart-warming as hell and it was our book club’s book of this month! From the story to the characters, it was so well thought out and written! I highly suggest you read it if you want something edgy but sweet at the same time! 3.5 ⭐s!

#9 Fracture Me by Tahereh Mafi
The first novella I read was from the Shatter Me series. Fracture me was a good quick read, we got a good insight into Adam’s thoughts and actions during the massacre (I will call it that I do not care anything said otherwise lol) and I quite liked it! I wish I read the first novella too, maybe I will read it after I finish the series!

#10 Mysteries by Knut Hamsun
I do not know what I feel about this book yet, it was indeed something completely out of my routine and when I am reading things out of my routine I am usually left too baffled to actually decide about my feelings. I did some research on the author and what I saw broke me a little, I also read a lot of reviews of the book and I saw that a lot of people felt the things I felt throughout the book. It was a good book, by no means I am going to trash talk about a Nobel Prized novel, however, the characters seemed artificial and the story kept too much tension until the very end.

This was everything that I read during the month of February, I enjoyed every book I read and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to read as much as I did. I cannot wait for what will March bring to me and I truly hope the best for people who had suffered, I am still down a little but we need to cover over wounds and let them heal. We need to heal. Until I see you in my next post friends. Take care. 💖
